Ongoing
With the help our Lab partners at Quatrefoil Associates, we’re launching the first iteration of a permanent exhibit at The Peale about Moses Williams to shed light on his unique craft and share a story that was nearly forgotten to history. Research is ongoing into Moses Williams’ life and work, and we’ll continue to iterate and expand on this exhibition.

Kaleidoscope brings together the amazing work of Elizabeth Talford Scott and Baltimore City Public School students in an effort to celebrate and uplift everyone within the community. This project is is a collaboration with nine sites across the city, including four museums.
April 6, 2024 - June 2, 2024
The Peale is pleased to announce it will be hosting FLOWERS, a show of visual art by Baltimore-based artist Ed Istwan. This show is comprised as a deceptively simple exploration of color and form, gesture and scale across several different medias. Istwan’s colorful abstract work was inspired in part by the architecture of The Peale’s landmark Latrobe Room where it will be on view. The Peale will host a reception for the exhibition on April 13.

This exhibition explores the founding, programs, and everyday activities of the Black Panther Party’s Baltimore chapter, as well as the party’s ideological foundations and state repression it experienced. The exhibit further examines the party’s links to other political organizations in the city within the broader context of political organizing in the period.
April 25-September 1, 2024
The Baltimore National Heritage Area (BNHA) is thrilled to present the winning entries of the 2023 It’s a SNAP photography contest and kick off the 2024 competition. The contest was open to amateur and professional photographers, ages 16+, to capture images that showcase the best of Baltimore. This year, BNHA was looking for what makes Baltimore, “Charm City”—its PEOPLE.

Developed by archaeologist and accessibility expert Dr. Cheryl Fogle-Hatch, Founding Fossils offers a multisensory experience with 3D-printed replicas of fossils from Dr. Bernard Means and Virginia Commonwealth University’s Virtual Curation Laboratory. It will also include tactile versions of art created by VCU artists Maggie Colangelo and Anna Carter. Weaving together these threads, the exhibit blends history, science, and art with a wholistic approach to accessibility.

The Guardians: Reshaping History
The Guardians is a photo documentary & storytelling project including photo portraits, large scale banners and digital archives that celebrate unrecognized Black female leaders across Baltimore City neighborhoods.
Redefine/ABLE: Challenging Inaccessibility
People with disabilities make up the largest minority population in the world. This project shares the challenges, successes, and stories of Maryland’s disabled communities, along with interesting facts.
Abstracts & Artifacts in Second Life
Build your avatar and start exploring a virtual replica of our building in Second Life. It’s open 24/7, 365 days a year! Tour the inside of the building too, with a special exhibition of historic photos of the Peale.
