Every Thursday is an opportunity to share and discuss! Jessica Damen brings the written word into visual form and encourages formal discussions. Middle school students, high school students, and adults of all ages are welcome to join the conversation. Bring your phones to scan QR codes throughout the galleries and listen to the verses associated with her artworks.
Jones Falls 2076 Community Design Charette
Join us for a participatory design session facilitated by Maura Dwyer from the Neighborhood Design Center where you’ll reflect on the exhibition and generate your own aspirational ideas and visions for the future of Jones Falls. Participants will discuss the exhibition with the group and engage in activities that manifest in a physical response to the works and generate their own response and new interpretations of Jones Falls.
Jones Falls 2076 Refuturing Workshop
This workshop sponsored by the Ecological Design Collective will create an imaginal space for participants to fully envision a future worth working for. It will include time for conversation and connection, a sound bath to ground us in a calm state of mind, a guided visualization of a desirable and ecologically resilient future, and discussion with others about what can bring that future about. Building connections is a key piece of this workshop. With permission, we will exchange contact information to stay in touch to continue any emerging collaborations. Come reclaim your imagination from the dystopia narrative and start planning futures worth living in!

Jones Falls 2076 Future Directions for the Jones Falls
As the I-83 elevated expressway covering the Jones Falls (the JFX) nears the projected end of its lifespan, more and more Baltimoreans are imagining and asking for a different future for the river. A panel of city officials, planners, and environmental leaders in Baltimore will discuss ideas and considerations around possible highway removal and river restoration in the city, in a discussion moderated by reporters Adam Willis and Daniel Zawodny from the Baltimore Banner.
Jones Falls 2076 Stories of Rivers Reclaimed
Panelists from Baltimore, Washington DC, and New York City will share case studies of other cities that have decommissioned highways and restored buried waterways.
Jones Falls 2076 Closing Roundtable and Ritual
The exhibition will close with a roundtable conversation with curators and several contributors, followed by a procession to the Jones Falls and a ritual of release.
