Renovations

The Peale is Baltimore’s Community Museum.

A "New" Museum

The Peale’s $5.5 million Capital Campaign to raise money for the renovation of the building is complete. Thanks to the generosity of more than 500 individuals and organizations, the renovation of the 1814 Peale Museum building is complete, after many years of fundraising and grassroots work to save Baltimore’s (and the country’s) landmark museum building!

The exterior work to renovate the roof, windows, and brickwork was completed in 2019. The interior work began in earnest in 2020. Inside the historic walls, master craftspeople repaired plasterwork, flooring, and all woodwork. Check out a gallery of photos of the work!
